Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits offers a unique hybrid experience called Homicide Rooms, which blends the high-stakes puzzles of an escape room with a realistic CSI murder investigation. Unlike traditional escape rooms that focus solely on "breaking out," Homicide Rooms require participants to process a crime scene, analyze evidence, and identify the killer before time runs out.  At Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits, we highly encourage guests to dress up in the theme of the current show—whether it’s a 1920s "Great Gatsby" style, a classic noir, or a themed comedy. While dressing in costume adds to the immersive atmosphere of our interactive theater, it is completely optional. Guests are always welcome in "Boise casual" or whatever attire makes them feel comfortable for a night of mystery, food, and spirits.

Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits offers a variety of shows for different audiences. Most of our interactive murder mysteries and comedy nights are all-ages or rated PG-13, making them a great choice for family-friendly entertainment in Boise. However, we do host specific R-rated shows which are strictly 18 and up. We recommend checking the specific show description on our tickets page to confirm the age rating before booking your experience. 

At Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits, we prioritize seating groups together to ensure the best interactive experience. While most of our shows feature open seating, certain special productions use an assigned seating map via Ticketor. If your friends have already purchased tickets and you would like to join their table, please contact us as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee specific placement if a show is near capacity, our team will do our best to accommodate seating transfer requests so your entire party can enjoy the mystery together. 

 No, audience participation is entirely optional at Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits. We welcome everyone from the "super-sleuth" who wants to interrogate suspects to the "witness type" who prefers to sit back and enjoy the performance. Since our shows are immersive, actors may occasionally move through the seating area or sit at tables. If you prefer a low-interaction experience, please email us at least 24 hours prior to your show. This allows us to seat you in a section of the café where you can enjoy the mystery as a spectator without being part of the direct action.y.

 Unlike many dinner theaters that serve pre-packaged meals, Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits features a full kitchen and a craft cocktail bar. Our menu ranges from premium pre-ordered steaks to made-to-order favorites like our signature house-made chips. Our bar is staffed by professional bartenders who specialize in craft cocktails, local spirits, and regular favorites—never canned drinks. Whether you are joining us for a murder mystery or a comedy show, you can expect a high-quality, full-service dining and mixology experience right at your table. 

Yes we have plenty of free parking.

 Yes, Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits is fully ADA accessible. We can easily accommodate guests using wheelchairs or walkers. To ensure the most comfortable experience, please contact us at least 24 hours prior to your showtime. This allows our team to reserve floor-level seating for your party, as some of our standard seating includes high-back chairs or elevated stools that may not be suitable for mobility aids. We are committed to providing a seamless experience for all guests in our Boise theater. 

 In accordance with Idaho health and safety laws and the ADA, Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits welcomes certified service dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Because we are a full-service restaurant and kitchen, emotional support animals, comfort animals, and pets are not permitted. We recommend notifying us in advance if you will be accompanied by a service dog so we can ensure your seating area has ample space for both you and your service animal. 

 Watson’s Mystery Café & Spirits is a full-service restaurant and craft cocktail bar; therefore, we do not allow outside food or beverages, including hard liquor. However, we do offer a wine corkage service for guests who wish to bring a special bottle of wine. Our professional bartender will handle the service for a $25 corking fee per bottle. We invite you to enjoy our full onsite menu, which features house-made dishes and a curated selection of spirits, beer, and wine designed to complement our interactive theater experience. 

 While Watson’s is a local small business, we are proud to be the home for the Southwest Idaho Performing Arts Association (SIPAA), a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit. SIPAA’s heart-led mission is to ensure that the magic of theater reaches every corner of our state, specifically supporting rural Idaho schools where drama programs are often underfunded. When you attend a show at Watson’s, you are helping SIPAA provide scripts, costumes, and technical equipment to students who wouldn't otherwise have a stage, while also ensuring local actors are fairly compensated for their talent and expenses. It’s more than just a dinner—it’s an investment in the next generation of Idaho performers.
